Tour Description
The activity start by picking you up at the hotel or at our main office, to drive for about 45 minutes to reach La Balsa river, where our rafting guides will give you lifejackets, paddle an helmet, and after a quick safety speech, we start to down the river. The descend takes about 2 hours , where we enjoy over 30 thrilling rapids class III, lush vegetation, wildlife, tropical fruits and nice water temperature.
At the end our driver wait with the bus, providing towels and drinks, after jumping in the bus we take you to our private restaurant to enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch and good coffee.
After lunch we drive for 10 minutes to get to the reception of the ATV. The tour starts giving you proper equipment to enjoy safely, as well the proper safety measures so please make sure to follow all instructions given by your ATV guide.
The adventure commences as we venture into the vast and captivating trails surrounding the iconic Arenal Volcano. These trails will immerse you in the extraordinary beauty of the volcano’s surroundings, allowing you to witness its grandeur up close. On the first trail we will visit the ecological park, featuring a short hike (500 meters) where we will be able to dive-in a little bit about the lava flows that were created after the historic explosions that are now visible to us. Here, you’ll have the chance to learn about the volcano’s history and the beautiful creation of this emblematic Volcano, petrified lava rocks, as well plenty of flora and fauna!
We will drive-thru rainforests, tracks, riverbanks, a volcanic lagoon, the foothills of the volcano, and finally, plenty of bumpy roads!
Then we will trace the natural contours of the Arenal river, adding an extra layer of tranquility and charm to our expedition. The peaceful sounds of flowing water and the lush scenery make this part of the journey truly enchanting.
An important part of what we will experience on this tour is part of what makes us Costa Ricans. As a short break, we visit the Native Maleku Aboriginal House, offering you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of the Maleku community and history, a beautiful opportunity to dive in to important history of one of the cultures that is in danger of extinction in Costa Rica.
Throughout the tour, we prioritize your comfort and well-being, providing water and a selection of tropical fruits at the end of the tour.
For the most scenic ATV from La Fortuna, we would like to specify that we offer transportation to the ATV main office, or as well feel free to use your car !
We offer some add-on’s with no extra charge, for you to enjoy the peaceful relaxation of hot springs, if you desire to enjoy this additional service please read the following disclaimer, otherwise please dismiss:
-For you to enjoy the hot springs we kindly request for you to drive yourself to the ATV’S Main office since their last shuttle is at 6:00 pm, as well we offer secure parking for your car at the ATV’S Main Office.

Please Note:
- Pick up time may be 30 to 40 minutes before departure time depending on Hotel location.
- Pick up service included in price only applies for hotel located 5 miles around our operation base in La Fortuna.
Minimun Age
Minimum age for ATV passengers: 8 years old.
✅ Drivers must hold a valid driving license (physical or digital copy).
Duration
6 hours total:
2 hours rafting + 2 hours atv tour + 1 h lunch + 2 h total transportation time.
Price
$130 per person (on ATV Double) with taxes included.
$163 per person (on ATV Single) with taxes included.
ATV Double means 2 passengers sharing the same vehicule.
ATV Single means 1 passenger per vehicule.
You can combine doubles and singles ATVs during the booking process.
What to bring
Secure closed-toed shoes are required for rafting (flip flops or crocs are NOT ALLOWED). Bring comfortable clothes to get wet and move while paddling, and also a change of clothes. Driving license is required for the ATV tour.

White Water Rafting
Navigate 10 kilometers of white water rapids, stop along the way to rest a bit, do a little swimming, and enjoy some fresh Costa Rica fruit.
After white water rafting, you will get a clean towel, water, and we’ll take you to a local restaurant to have a Costa Rica style lunch.

- Pick up service is included ONLY for hotels located 5 km around La Fortuna Central Park. We DO NOT offer pick service on Airbnb, however you can drive or take a taxi to our main office in La Fortuna, where we offer safe parking and more facilities.
